1) What certification exams are currently available?

Packeteer currently offers two levels of certification:

2) What is new with Packeteer Certification?

PacketShaper certification exams were last updated with the introduction of the major features of Xpress compression and acceleration in PacketWise version 8.

Please see our web site for details on how to register for both exams.

Anybody who passed the PCE exam since November 2006 has an up to date certification. Certification exams before that date did not cover the Xpress compression and acceleration features, so are obsolete. Those granted the PCE certification before that date should update theri certification by taking the current PCE exam. [return to top]

3) Do the certification exams cover all Packeteer products?

Both the PCS and PCE exams cover PacketShaper line of products including the following components: Monitoring, Shaping,e Compression, and Acceleration.

Please note: Packeteer's SkyX and iShared products do not fall under this certification program. [return to top]

4) How long will my certifications last?

Certifications are considered current if they are for the current major product release or until there are major updates to product features, whichever time period is longer.

All certifications are valid for a minimum of 12 months from the date granted. Packeteer reviews its certification program annually, and if updates are not issued may extend this validity period.

When new products are released, recertification requirements will be announced on this web site. It is the certification holders' responsibility to check the website and to confirm that your certification is up to date. Packeteer reserves the right to change the certification program, at any time, without notice. Such changes may include, without limitation: adding or deleting available certifications and modifying certification requirements, recommended training courses, testing objectives, outlines and exams. You agree to meet Packeteer's most current certification program requirements, as changed, as a condition of obtaining and maintaining your certification. [return to top]

5) What happens if my certification expires?

The "Packeteer Partner Program Requirement and Benefits" document specifies eligibility requirements in each region for benefits such as discounts and support from Packeteer. Expiration of a certification will mean loss of eligibility for these benefits until re-certification occur by taking the appropriate exam. [return to top]
