Operate: Packeteer Software Upgrade Procedures

Customers with Packeteer products that are covered by the PacketCare program are entitled to free maintenance and major software upgrades.

All upgrade-related information and procedures are available from Packeteer's support website at http://www.packeteer.com/support.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the free software upgrades, it is important that your product is registered and covered by Packeteer's support program. Information about the PacketCare service program is available via the support website.

Notification

By subscribing to the Packeteer Technical Support Alert, you can be notified via email when new versions of Packeteer software are available for download.

Changes

To learn more about the important changes and features of a specific software release, visit the documentation section of the support website and read the particular release's associated software release notes.

Maintenance and Major Software Upgrade Procedure

To upgrade your existing software to the latest image, go to PacketGuide's upgrade task and follow the instructions.

To download the latest software image, go to the support website, log into the Software Download area. Enter the serial number of the unit and select the software version.

File Distribution Service

PolicyCenter includes a file distribution service that can obtain the latest software image files from the Packeteer support website, then schedule a time to copy and install these files to PacketShaper units assigned to a PolicyCenter configuration.
