We'd like to offer some assistance as Packeteer customers progress through the stages of a PacketShaper deployment — from evaluation, purchase, and installation through day-to-day usage.

This site offers a single location where you can come to answer, "What should I be doing now?" in any phase of your process with our products. It lists and describes the tasks involved at the various stages of deployment, and it provides links to information contained elsewhere on Packeteer web sites that can give you detailed specifics.

We divide the customer process into several stages. Each is listed below with a link to a workflow that covers the stage and its associated responsibilities.

Evaluate

Assess Packeteer products' suitability and benefits for your own network environment

Procure

Determine the components of your complete Packeteer solution and prepare for deployment.

Deploy

Plan and perform a pilot and then a full PacketShaper installation, complete with initial configuration.

Operate

Refine PacketShaper configuration in response to network and application performance and keep tabs on anything of interest.

Extend

Solve or avert more problems with latest application detection, additional features, supplementary management strategies, or additional units.

Blue Coat will continue to support Packeteer customers based on active/current support agreements. Customers may obtain support for Packeteer products through the same mechanisms previously utilized.
