SAP
The migration of SAP applications to delivery via web protocols often results in slow performance for remote users accessing these clients over the WAN. Some of these performance issues are caused by the delivery of rich graphics and images over the WAN, which are designed to maintain the look and feel of a thick client, but which can also cause congestion at the LAN/WAN boundary.
Blue Coat’s caching and compression technologies offer a highly effective solution to WAN congestion. These and other WAN optimization technologies help reduce the amount of traffic sent over the WAN and result in better SAP performance for end users.
Blue Coat also offers HTTP and HTTPS protocol optimizations to cut the number of round trips for data and content, while TCP optimizations maximize overall transfer and link utilization. Blue Coat also accelerates encrypted SAP traffic by decreasing the time required for SSL handshakes and bulk encryption.
In addition, recent studies have shown that Blue Coat ProxySG:
- Decreased SAP login times by 12X or more, while also reducing bandwidth usage by up to 99%.
- Improved file retrieval times by 97X or more, and reduced bandwidth usage by more than 99%.
